The State of The Chinese Podosphere

A recent report by Jack Gu from PodLook reports the following key findings about the Chinese Podosphere:

  • The number of Chinese podcasters has reached over 100,000, a 300% growth in three months. Number of Podcasts reached half a million, more than tripled than three months ago.
  • Podcasters who produced at least 5 episodes increased to about 30% from less than 15% in three months ago.
  • The number of video clips, mainly in flash format, exceeded that of audio files, almost two thirds of all Podcasts are videos.
  • The potential regulation may make the future of the industry very uncertain.
