We just released the first version of BlogEx, a blog extension for Maxthon. Now you can:

This is awesome! Chris Pirillo a.k.a known as "Lockergnome" probably our biggest, pro-active and most passionate evangelists out there, and organiser of the the famous Gnomedex, was using Maxthon as the default browser for all the presentations at Gnomedex06!
Now some of them are available at Podtech.net. Watch them here at PodTech.net . Or what do you say about seeing David Winer talking about " How to make money on the Internet" with a huge projection of Maxthon in the background.
I especially like the one with Farecast, where they guys got a bit confused at the set up and Chris comes in and says " BTW, I use Maxthon as my browser so it opens up as a background Tab.."
This is marketing at it’s best:
We love you forever Chris! There is nothing more passionate than this...
We just released a long waited for Guide to create Maxthon Plugins (PDF). This Guide gives you a clear overview on how to create:
Please feel free to pass it on to any services out there that you would like to develop plugins for in Maxthon. Since this is the first version, we would love to hear from you on how we can make it better and if anything is missing etc.
Maxthon has finally got a number of Blog-related Plugins:

The Technorati Sidebar plugin functions similarly to the Technorati Mini . In addition you can:

With the Typepad Plugin, you can easily post about something you’ve read Online to your Typepad blog. Just select the text on a website, press the plugin button and post it to your blog. It works just like the “Quick Post” bookmarklet, but can also copy the full html-code from any selection.

The co.Comments Plugin allows you to:
Hope that you enjoy them!

Two weeks ago I gave an interview to Cnet's Stefanie Olsen at the Global Internet Summit about Maxthon. A few days ago her article was published, with a very different pitch that I expected. The article took off like crazy and was soon published, re-published, cited, Digged and blogged all over.
A few corrections:
Sometimes journalists tend to spice up the material in order to create an interesting storyline. Maxthon has a very interesting story, but it has nothing to do with web proxy's.

I have been invited by Piper Jaffray to sit on the International Markets panel on behalf of Maxthon, together with Sina’s Charles Chao CEO (leading Chinese Online Media Company) and Focus Media ‘s Jason Jiang, CEO & Daniel Woo, CFO (Chinas largest out-of-home multi-platform media company) at the annual Global Internet Summit at Laguna Beach, June 12–14th.
The summit has an very impressive list of participating companies: MySpace, Facebook, Google, Yahoo, Sina, Netflix, Akamai, InfoSpace, Virgin Mobile, Amazon, Ebags, 24/7, Classmates, EMI Group, Demand Media, Mayfield Fund, Monster, Tribal DDB Worldwide, iCrossing, City Group and many more.
The summit is called “The new order in the Internet” and have some very interesting panels:
Needless to say, it provides for great learning and networking. Time permitting, I will try to cover some of the most interesting parts. Stay tuned.
The recent press release from Maxthon managed to create quite some buzz:
and many more: Google Blog Search and Gada.be , it also lead to lots of new downloads and many new users, and we haven’t really got started yet…
Our good friend Nathan Gold, U3 Evangelist & Developer showed Robert Scoble a USB Thumb Drive and told him "try this out". And here is what Robert reported:
"I'm playing with it now. It's a 1GB flash memory drive that plugs into my USB port. But it isn't a normal memory key. When you plug it in it automatically adds a new menu in the system tray. That pulls up a ton of software that Nathan put on my key for me.
Turns out it fools my PC into thinking it's a CD-ROM drive that auto starts.
This is a radical way to distribute test software. Why? Cause I unplug my key and any software I run disappears along with it (and any traces, including any temp files I've downloaded - I got the Maxthon browser on the key, for instance. As soon as I unplug it everything goes away, even registry entries). Whoa."
Maxthon on U3's Flash memory key is really great. Just like Scoble says' when you unplug it everything goes away, even registry entries. I carry my U3 Key with me everywhere, fill up with my favorite software's: Maxthon, Skype, Trillian and much more. You can buy one here from U3's website or even better, submit a new killer plugin for Maxthon, and we'll send one to you!

Just discovered this great plugin “ More Options” by the very talented abc@home . More Options – adds a lot of new options to Maxthon such as:

It is a great and useful plugin further extending what is possible with Maxthon. Download it here. Thanks to Chris, for directing me to it.

Wow, the announcement yesterday certainly hit the Net. Check out how many people have been digging the Techcrunch post since yesterday. As usual a lot of negative comments, but that was expected, same old arguments based on miss perception, wrong information, and mostly by people who have never downloaded and really used Maxthon. Come on people, it’s not a religion! It’s just a browser, live and let live!
I know we have been keeping you waiting for an announcement for too long. So here we go, we are very excited to announce that one of the leading and most respected US venture capital firms, Charles River Ventures, has invested in Maxthon. CRV joins early investors Morten Lund (Skype seed investor) and WI Harper who invested in Maxthon, June last year. Of all the VC's pitching us (yes I agree that is a quite unusual side to be on..) ever since we received the Red Herring Asia 100 award, CRV really impressed us the most. Except for their genuine passion and deep network, they also share our vision of where the future of the Web is going.
The deal was lead by Bill Tai, general partner at CRV. Bill is an amazing guy with a fantastic track record, named by Forbes to their list of "Top 100 Dealmakers in Technology". We have already enjoyed working together on several deals prior to the investment, and I can say with complete confidence that they have already delivered.
The investment will be used to further fuel development , new services, marketing and geographical expansion. We know how anxious you all have been waiting for more frequent releases, additional features and more marketing efforts. Now we will finally be able to live up to those demands and show the world what a great browser Maxthon really is, and what a fantastic community it has.
Full Press release here. Red Herring article here. Techcrunch post. Om Malik here.

Paul Witschey kindly created BlogJet plug-in for Maxthon. BlogJet is one of my favorite Blog Editors and I have actually been waiting for this a long time. According to Paul, it allows you to blog high-lighted text by simply pressing the button on the toolbar. Get it here.
According to Paul, the plug-in allows the user to copy the highlighted text into Blogjet as either 'Plain Text', or as 'HTML'. It is possible to select a default transfer type (Plain Text or HTML), and it is also possible to select whether you want to date/time stamp the text being blogged. You can also select whether you want to transfer the highlighted text, or not. If you choose not to transfer the highlighted text, the only thing that will be posted on your blog, will be the title of the webpage and a link to the webpage.
Maxthon Forum users That1ComputerGuy,“Klinx” and “abc@home” have also contributed code to the plug-in. Love the joint effort! This post is posted with Paul’s BlogJet plug-in. Thank you Paul, really appreciated!
Posting has been thin lately, but believe me we have been so busy. Just as a teaser I wanted you to know that we will be making a new exciting announcement any day now…Stay tuned!

Here’s another shot of our unexhaustable evangelist Chris Pirillo. This shot was just taken from the ongoing MindCamp in Seattle by Fellaheen . Like a true & brave Maxthon fan – he proudly wears his Maxthon T-shirt even in circles where a dedicated Maxthon user is looked upon with frown…But don’t worry Chris, new enthusiastic Maxthon users are mushrooming all over and sooner than you think people will ask themselves why the heck they had anything against Maxthon in the first place….
Although TechNudge Live is might not be a top tier review site for software, I always like to read stories about how users came to discover and user Maxthon. Here’s a recent review titled: “Which browser is the best, and why has nobody heard of it?”
. Well Jonas, we are very happy that you have heard Maxthon and that you now have joined us all with spreading the good word. Stay tuned for Maxthon 2.0 though (coming to your desktop in the near future).

Maxthon is supposed to be featured in the latest edition of Red Herring. The feature article is discussing "Browser Wars" and both Jeff & myself was interviewed by Priya Ganapati who wrote the story. Browser War and more in the April 3 issue of the Red Herring reaches newsstands on Monday. I have not yet read the article myself so I save my comments for now.

I’m off to Palo Alto, California for a week full of interesting meetings with potential partners and entrepreneurs. I know that blogging has been a bit thin lately, we’ve just been so busy gearing up for with new projects etc. However, I will do my best to report on anything noteworthy of reporting. We will also be launching a new service on Monday next week so stay tuned for that…
